Followings are the problems, the world at large thinks,Islam has:

In the opinion of modern world, other than Islam every religion is moderate because rest of the religions if direct to perform some worship at a time, at another each of them does not refrain the followers from visiting night club, dancing with girls and drinking alcohol if it is offered, however,  in Islam there is hardly any such flexibility shown to the evil unpleasant to the people ,therefore, perhaps, Islam has an issue of compatibility with the European and West Culture  and hence, it is believed that Islam does not keep pace with the time. Muslims hold a belief that so much flexibility not only brings degeneracy, it even makes a person have no firm stand on any issue concerns.

Islam disapproves live-in-relationship. The reason that is assigned to the disapproval is the sanctity of the bond of marriage which live-in-relationship is deprived of. Marriage is a social contract and not a secret affair like live-in-relationship and thus, it has to be celebrated with the gathering of guests, friends and relatives so that no one can cast aspersion on your union and at the time of pregnancy the couple neither have to be panic about the abortion nor have to carry any sense of shame on the birth of their child.

The major flaw of live-in-relationship is, the couple is not legally bound to share the responsibilities of each other permanently which ultimately give room to the abuse and exploitation and in the country like India, deeply influenced by religion, this sort of relationship is hardly approved because no safety pin to retain this relationship is put. The witnesses who may stand for the  victim in the case of Nikaah they are nowhere here in live-in-relationship. Hence, at times murder or suicide remain ultimate resort to a tortured soul.

Islam still takes recourse to primitive thought of keeping women at home away from chaotic life of professionals like Nurse, saleswoman etc. however they are encouraged if they are pursuing their dreams amongst girls only.

Islam restrains women from being independent to the extent that they become oblivious of the care of their children and the duties of the husbands in their lives. According to the teachings of Islam, the Muslim men are responsible for them as their caretakers. They have to maintain thier wives at any cost irrespective of their wealth and assets. The wives neither have to put any effort for sustenance nor have to do anything for living, though that is completely allowed in a secure atmosphere. Islam is skeptical about the advancement to the extent that the bond of man's guardianship and caretaking of women is thrown to the wind. This is what has been stated in the verse 24, Surah Nisa ‘'Men stand care-takers of women”.

In Islam for women travelling alone in a far flung areas is still disallowed because a lady comparatively can be made an easy target by the criminals, whereas for a civilized culture their safety and dignity is paramount.  

Lesbians and gays are not accommodated. Muslims view that culture like LGBTQ denies the natural and divinely ordained norms of union between men and women and makes an attempt to erase the sexual differences creating an utopian world which is gaining currency with respect to homosexuality. The recent report published in Nov 2023 by National Library of Medicine shows that gay men and lesbian women are more likely to diagnosed with cancer than heterosexual men and women respectively.  

Night Club, nudity and dancing in front of strangers as professionals is still deprecated not only for women but for men as well. To a Muslim household Modesty and chastity are the prime jewel that is preferred and has to be preserved.  

Co-ed is not considered a positive step towards imparting equal opportunities in education. It is because of that basic tenet of Islam, that a muslim is expected to keep an  eye on the constraints and not to take a path which possibly may lead to commission of a sin. Mingling, interacting and playing with the girls may bring about intimacy which may ultimately lead to prenuptial sex that is forbidden in absolute terms.  

Muslims still persist in sporting a long beard, wearing an attire of Kurta Pajama instead of coat pant that makes their appearance doubtful and distinctive from rest of the people. They give primacy to their religious values renouncing modern values entirely.

Preachers of Islam lay a great emphasis on abstention from indulging in forbidden activities as well as from alcohol, although it causes a huge monetary lose to the economy for not being able to generate enough revenue.

Instead of dating each other for quite a long time, early marriages are recommended in Islam as it helps in maintaining chastity and preventing from fornication.

Democracy is not taken as a panacea and an ultimate remedy in perpetuity. All the people generally and Muslims particularly are skeptical about the outcomes of the fragile democracy.

 The followers of Islam do not tolerate anything or everything in the name of freedom of expression. They are sensitive to an extent that they are even ready to give and take the lives of others, if their prophet is being made fun of or in case the attempts are being made to make prophet a laughing stock. 

The world opine that the Muslims are the "termites" because of whom the world generally and the Muslims specially are lagging behind. They are antithesis to modernism and intellectual progress. The Muslims are rigid, fanatics and do not show any flexibility as to open culture of mingling a boy and a girl and they are stagnant to the extent that they even declare opposite gender interaction illegitimate.

When the world has advanced and it even legitimized what was illegitimate yesterday, Islam and the Muslims have again shown stagnancy not allowing even consensual sex between two males and two females.

They are the only discontented ones and come out in numbers to show resistance when any gov't in any corner of the world takes any move against their religion and this why the govt is compelled to call them terrorists and not insurgents or resisting forces.

How Islam can be compatible with the Europe and the West Culture?

Perhaps, if Islam and Muslims begin nodding to everything what pleases the Europe and the Western  Countries, if the followers of this religion get rid of the stagnant attitude of sticking to foundational beliefs and start giving room to modern views like allowing alcohol at times, fornicating with the women of their choice prior to marriage and worshipping every religion like visiting mosque in the morning, Gurudwara at noon, temple in the evening, synagogue on Saturday and Church on Sunday, possibly, Islam, then only, can be considered compatible with the Europe and the West. But is this possible ever?
